## Synopsis

Vanderpump Rules (2013-present) is a US reality soap created for Bravo that follows the staff of Lisa Vanderpump's West Hollywood restaurant SUR. Lisa Vanderpump (herself) acts as a motherly but shrewd boss keeping control over a volatile group of servers, bartenders and hosts, including Jax Taylor, Stassi Schroeder, Scheana Marie Shay, Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix. The engine of the show is the collision of work and romance: employees pursue their careers and each other inside the same restaurant, so shifts, flirtations, breakups and rivalries spill from the dining room into nightly life around town. Each season is built from a run of unscripted episodes that track confrontations, group dinners and sudden alliances. Across twelve seasons it is a continuing, serialized saga rather than a case-of-the-week format. Set in the Hollywood nightlife scene of Los Angeles, it carries a loud, glossy, gossip-driven tone with flashes of cringe and sincerity. Fans of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Summer House and Entourage will find resonance in its ensemble drama and social volatility.
