## Synopsis

Birth of a Beauty (2014-2015) is a South Korean television comedy drama series created for SBS and broadcast as a single 21-episode season of roughly 65-minute episodes. Han Ye-seul plays Sa Geum-ran, a divorced woman who, after a nearly fatal accident, is transformed from head to toe with help from a wealthy stranger, and her plans turn toward revenge against her former husband. Joo Sang-wook plays Han Tae-hee, the polished figure whose presence drives the central romantic and rivalry tension, while Jung Gyu-woon, Wang Ji-hye and Han Sang-jin round out the principal cast in a web of family and social entanglements. The engine of the story is a woman rebuilding her appearance and her life as a weapon, with each episode staging the new confidence she gains against people who underestimated her. The series mixes glossy, exaggerated comedy with melodramatic reversals and soapy class-conscious romance, giving it a breezy yet cathartic register. Set in contemporary Seoul among affluent circles, it moves through boardrooms, parties and private dramas. Fans of the revenge makeover story and the k-drama melodrama tradition, in the vein of Cinderella's Sister and My Love from the Star, will find resonance here. The show runs one complete season, making it a self-contained limited run with a clear emotional arc.
