## Synopsis

Pinocchio (2014-2015) is a South Korean drama series created by Jo Soo-won for SBS, a single-season k-drama that blends newsroom drama, romance and mystery across twenty hour-long episodes. Park Shin-hye plays Choe In-ha, an aspiring reporter who wants to follow in her mother's footsteps, while Lee Jong-suk plays Gi Ha-myeong, a reporter who seeks to practice honest news and hides a secret identity. Their rivalry turns into an uneasy partnership as each conceals a past that bears on the stories they chase. The engine of the series is the tension between personal ambition and the cost of telling the truth, with each episode built around investigative reports, workplace pressure and tangled loyalties inside a broadcast newsroom. Kim Young-kwang and Lee Yu-bi round out the principal cast as colleagues whose choices complicate the central pair. The tone is earnest and emotionally charged, moving between warm comedic moments and wrenching drama, with a romantic pull that keeps the professional conflict personal. Fans of The Newsroom and The Glory will find resonance in its mix of institutional stakes, buried history and heartfelt rivalry.
