## Synopsis

Liar Game (2014) is a South Korean miniseries created for tvN, a twelve-episode drama blending mystery and game show suspense. Cha Woo-jin, a genius swindler, is pitted against Nam Da-jung, a naive college student, in a televised contest where contestants are encouraged to cheat and lie for a prize of 10 billion won. Losing means debt, so every bluff and betrayal carries real cost. Kim So-eun plays Nam Da-jung and Lee Sang-yun plays Ha Woo-jin, while Shin Sung-rok appears as Kang Do-young, the host and planner of the show. Each episode turns on a new round of deception, with contestants reading one another, forging alliances and breaking them as the stakes climb. The tone is tense and cerebral, with a sharp sense of paranoia beneath the glossy studio surface. Viewers drawn to the cunning of Squid Game, the strategic bluffing of Money Heist, or the psychological reads of Lie to Me will find a similar appetite for mind games. Set in a contemporary Korean setting, the show favors close-ups, quick reversals and the quiet calculations behind each lie, rewarding attentive viewers who enjoy tracking every move.
