## Synopsis

A Guy, a Girl is a French-Canadian romantic comedy series that aired from 1999 to 2003, created by Guy A. Lepage. Jean Dujardin plays Jean and Alexandra Lamy plays Alex, the couple at the center of its hundreds of tiny episodes. Each installment runs only about six minutes and drops in on a single moment of their shared life: a quarrel in bed, a conversation in the living room, a kitchen mishap, a tense phone call. Occasionally the format stretches to rarer situations, such as being stranded on an island or a wedding that goes sideways. The engine of the show is the friction and affection between two people who want ordinary peace and keep getting ordinary chaos. It is a loose, episodic run rather than one continuing plot, with a light, witty, intimate tone that favors comfort over cliffhangers. Fans of Seinfeld and Modern Family will find resonance in its sharp domestic banter, and the show suits a relaxed evening of short, affectionate laughs.
