## Synopsis

The Odd Couple (2015-2017) is an American multi-camera sitcom created by Matthew Perry, Danny Jacobson and Joe Keenan for CBS. Matthew Perry plays Oscar Madison, a divorced sports television host living a messy bachelor life in New York City, whose apartment becomes a battleground when his college friend Felix Unger (Thomas Lennon) arrives heartbroken after his wife leaves him. Oscar's engine is a mix of meddling and self-deception: he tries to coax Felix back onto the dating scene, but each attempt exposes how unsettled his own feelings about his ex remain. Yvette Nicole Brown plays Dani and Wendell Pierce plays Teddy, rounding out the circle of friends and co-workers who trade jokes and romantic misfires. The show runs three seasons and thirty-eight episodes, built around self-contained case-of-the-week style situations with light serial threads about dating and friendship. It is a breezy, warm, gently comic series, a revival of the classic odd couple pairing with a contemporary comic rhythm. Fans of Friends, Mad About You and the original 1970 The Odd Couple will find resonance in its easygoing banter and wistful romantic undercurrent.
