## Synopsis

All Hail King Julien (2014-2017) is a American animated family comedy series created by Tom McGrath and Eric Darnell for Netflix, a spin-off from the Madagascar films produced by DreamWorks Animation Television. Danny Jacobs voices the vain, self-crowned King Julien, a lemur who rules his jungle with absurd pomp and an iron fist that is mostly bluster. Kevin Michael Richardson voices his long-suffering lemur sidekick Maurice, and Andy Richter voices the ever-anxious Mort, while India de Beaufort voices Clover, the ambitious head of security. Each short episode follows the king's scheming ambitions and clashes with rivals such as the villainous Foosa, with the comedy built on slapstick, bright musical numbers and his self-important dance routines. The show runs for five seasons and sixty-five episodes of roughly twenty-three minutes each, with a standalone, episodic structure that keeps every adventure self-contained. Its bright, goofy, warm tone and colorful animal ensemble will appeal to families and fans of the film series. Viewers who enjoy the playful silliness of Madagascar, The Penguins of Madagascar and Gummi Bears will find the same easygoing charm here.
