## Synopsis

Hellsing Ultimate (2006-2012) is a Japanese animated horror action series created for anime television and produced by Madhouse and Satelight. Sir Integra Hellsing (Yoshiko Sakakibara) leads a secret organization that has protected the British Empire from the undead for a century, and her most dangerous weapon is Alucard (Jouji Nakata), a rogue vampire of frightening power. Seras Victoria (Fumiko Orikasa), a young officer transformed into a vampire, joins the fight, while Alexander Anderson (Norio Wakamoto) brings a rival church-backed zeal to the battles. Each episode is built around fierce, bloody confrontations with ghouls, vampires and enemies stranger than either, with the ongoing tension of a weapon that could turn on its masters. The series is a ten-episode OVA-style run, a single season of unrelenting gore and operatic action. Its tone is lurid, theatrical and grimly comic, with gothic London rooftops and wartime sensibility setting the mood. Fans of Hellsing (2001), Trinity Blood and Blood+ will find the same mix of gothic vampire mythology and stylized violence.
