## Synopsis

Captain Sharif (2013-2019) is a French police procedural series created by Lionel Olenga, Stéphane Drouet and Laurent Scalese for France 2. Abdelhafid Meltasi plays Kader Chérif, an unconventional police captain whose questionable methods keep colliding with the procedures of his new partner, the by-the-book criminal investigator Adeline Briard, played by Carole Bianic. Around them, Mélèze Bouzid, Élodie Hesme and François Bureloup fill out the squad, and the series builds its engine from case-by-case investigations in which the captain's instincts must be reconciled with the investigator's rigor. Across six seasons the show moves at the pace of a French network crime drama, with each episode built around a fresh case while a slowly deepening working relationship between the two leads carries the longer arc. The tone is grounded and warm, with flashes of dry humour in the friction between the two investigators. Set in contemporary France, it offers the rhythm of a national-television procedural. Fans of Engrenages, Monk and Bones will find resonance in its mix of case-driven crime and mismatched partnership.
