## Synopsis

Salamander is a Belgian crime drama set in Brussels, following police inspector Raymond Jonkhere as he pursues the thieves who emptied 66 safe deposit boxes at a private bank. What begins as a bold robbery soon reveals a web of clients who have every reason to remain hidden, and each step toward the truth costs the investigators something. Joachim Klaus and Marc De Coutere work through interviews, surveillance and tangled leads, while pressure builds from within the case itself. The story stays on one investigative thread, letting private secrets and political favours surface slowly. The tone is tense, sober and grounded, with a cool European atmosphere and a steady undercurrent of unease about who can be trusted. Its patient procedural rhythm rewards viewers who enjoy slow-burn mysteries, morally compromised characters and institutions that look less solid the closer one gets. It suits audiences drawn to Nordic noir and European crime drama, where the mystery matters less than what it exposes about power and complicity.
