## Synopsis

The Last Man on Earth (2015-2018) is an American network comedy created by Will Forte for FOX. Will Forte plays Phil Miller, a former average bank employee who believed he was an ordinary family man, now the only person left alive after a lethal virus has swept the globe. Kristen Schaal plays Carol Pilbasian, Cleopatra Coleman plays Erica, and Mel Rodriguez plays Todd, the survivors who eventually cross his path and disrupt his solitude. The engine of the show is Phil's restless search across the country in his RV for other people, and each arrival brings new conflicts, rivalries, and awkward domestic arrangements. The series is built from short 22-minute episodes that follow his improvised routines, dark jokes, and the emotional fallout of being alone in a silent world. Its tone mixes lonely absurdist humor with melancholy and sincerity, as Phil's boredom gives way to a fragile attempt at community. Set in a contemporary United States reimagined after collapse, it is a post apocalyptic sitcom with a flair for bleak comedy. Fans of I Am Legend, Zombieland and Quarantine will find resonance in its mix of survival, isolation and dark humor.
