## Synopsis

Catastrophe (2015-2019) is a British comedy series created by Rob Delaney and Sharon Horgan for Channel 4. Delaney and Horgan also star as Rob Norris, an American man, and Sharon Morris, an Irish woman, whose casual fling in London turns into an unplanned pregnancy and a rushed marriage. Their struggle to fall in love is the engine: every episode piles a new domestic disaster onto the couple, from jealous exes and stag-night fallout to parenthood and the strain on their friendships. Supporting characters Chris (Mark Bonnar), Fran (Ashley Jensen), Dave (Daniel Lapaine) and Fergal (Jonathan Forbes) add sharp counterweights, while Carrie Fisher and Tobias Menzies appear in guest roles. The show runs four seasons of six half-hour episodes each, a serialized romantic comedy that unfolds as one continuing story. Its tone is abrasive, frank and sweetly wistful, with blunt profanity and adult frankness balancing real affection. Set in present-day London, it has the bruised intimacy of a love story told by two people who keep colliding. Fans of Fleabag, Lovesick and Motherland will find resonance in its candid adult wit and messy domestic realism.
