## Synopsis

Lucha Underground (2014-2018) is an American scripted pro wrestling drama series created by Mark Burnett and Robert Rodriguez for El Rey Network, with later airings on UniMás and Univision. Across four seasons and 127 episodes, the show introduces viewers to lucha libre, an ancient combat tradition staged in a gritty arena called The Temple. Matt Striker appears throughout the broadcast as a central presence, while masked luchadores such as Angélico, Mil Muertes and Drago, played by Adam Bridle, Gilbert Cosme and Victor Manuel Soto Flores, carry the rivalries between good and evil. Brian Winbush's Famous B and Catrina, played by Karlee Perez, add further personalities to the roster. Each hour mixes athletic matches with a continuing soap-like storyline, so alliances, betrayals and grudges build over many episodes rather than resetting weekly. The engine is the struggle for position and revenge inside a closed, brutal arena where every bout feeds the next. Its tone is breathless and propulsive, with explosive aerial moves, theatrical menace and a gritty, sweat-soaked atmosphere. Fans of GLOW, Fightville and the high-flying energy of lucha libre will find resonance here, and the four-season run is serialized rather than episodic, so order matters.
