## Synopsis

X Company (2015-2017) is a Canadian period spy drama created by Stephanie Morgenstern and Mark Ellis for CBC Television. It follows five young recruits, Canadian, American and British, pulled from ordinary lives and trained as covert agents at an ultra-secret facility on the shores of Lake Ontario. Aurora Luft (Evelyne Brochu) anchors the ensemble, with Alfred Graves (Jack Laskey), Harry James (Connor Price), Tom Cummings (Dustin Milligan) and Krystina Breeland (Lara Jean Chorostecki) sharing the strain of training and missions. Each stretch of the series moves from elegant hotels to grim hellholes in the field, where every parachute drop is a risky operation with the threat of capture, torture and execution looming. Across three seasons of roughly ten episodes each, the show mixes espionage procedure with personal loyalty and romance, staying close to the characters as they face wartime deception. Set in World War II, its tone is tense, emotionally driven and often bleak, with a gritty, character-first texture. Fans of Band of Brothers, The Bletchley Circle and The Americans will find resonance in its blend of historical grit and covert intrigue.
