## Synopsis

Waiting for the Sun is a Turkish family drama series created by Gökhan Horzum and Altan Dönmez and broadcast on Kanal D. Set in a modest small city, it follows Zeynep, a beautiful high school student whose ordinary life with her mother Demet is shadowed by the father she has never known, a seaman said to have been lost at sea while on duty. Her longing for him shapes her quiet daily routines and her hopes. Around her, principal characters move through romance, rivalry and family ties that test loyalties. The series unfolds as a single complete story across one season, with a register that is emotional and sincere and a melodramatic pull toward heartbreak, devotion and hope. Viewers who enjoy the melodrama of Kara Sevda and the teen romance of Gossip Girl will find familiar pleasures here, along with the intimate, family-centered warmth of Turkish television.
