## Synopsis

Angie Tribeca (2016-2018) is a US network television police spoof series created by Steve Carell and Nancy Carell for TBS. Rashida Jones stars as Angie Tribeca, a lone-wolf LAPD detective whose unorthodox methods clash with and ultimately sustain her committed squad, including Hayes MacArthur as Jay Geils, Deon Cole as DJ Tanner, and Andree Vermeulen as Monica Scholls, with Jere Burns as Chet Atkins in a supporting role. The engine of the show is simple: each case is a self-contained homicide puzzle, from a ventriloquist's murder to a rash of baker suicides, that the team chases through mounting absurdity while the detectives bicker and blunder their way toward the answer. Across four seasons of ten episodes each, the series stays in a case-of-the-week format, with running gags and callbacks paying off within every installment. Its setting is present-day Los Angeles, with the look and rhythm of a glossy network crime drama played for laughs. The tone is deadpan and breezy, treating grisly crimes with exaggerated seriousness so the jokes land harder. Fans of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Police Squad! and The Naked Gun will find the same affectionate parody of cop-show conventions here.
