## Synopsis

Banshee: Origins (2013-2016) is an American crime webisode prequel series created by Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler and released on YouTube. It expands the world of the Cinemax drama Banshee, following the period between the arrest of a career criminal who takes the name Lucas Hood (Antony Starr) and his arrival as the town sheriff of a Pennsylvania mining town. Short episodes fill in the flashbacks that link his prison term to the life he steps into, with Carrie Hopewell (Ivana Milicevic) and Sugar Bates (Frankie Faison) as the principal figures in the wider story. The engine is a man with a dangerous past trying to stay hidden while the criminal forces that shaped him close in. Each episode mixes brawls, prison-yard tension and hard-boiled dialogue with glimpses of the rural town he will try to protect. The run spans four seasons and forty-one episodes of brisk, violent, hard-boiled crime drama. Fans of Justified, Prison Break and gritty small-town noir will find resonance in its vigilante energy, its moral ambiguity and its taut action. The tone is gritty and propulsive, with a grim streak of loyalty and retribution running through every story.
