## Synopsis

Black-and-White World (2015-2021) is a Croatian national-television dramedy series created by Goran Kulenović for HRT 1. Spanning four seasons and forty-eight episodes, it follows the Milicevic family and their circle across three generations, centering on Jagoda Milicevic (Anica Dobra) and her daughter Una Milicevic (Kaja Šišmanović), with Žac (Karlo Maloča), Dominik (Franjo Kuhar) and Kipo (Filip Riđički) among the principal young figures tied into the city's music world. The engine of the show is ordinary romantic and family entanglements, love affairs, tensions at home and friendships, playing out against the daily life and rebellions of a young generation. Each episode of its continuing story balances sharp humor with melancholy, moving from scenes of household friction to nights in clubs and rehearsal rooms. The setting is late 1970s into early 1980s Zagreb, a city absorbing Yugoslav rock and new wave, in the uncertain months after Tito's death. The tone is nostalgic, wry and warm, with a sincere attention to how public history reaches private rooms. Fans of The Wonder Years and Freaks and Geeks will find resonance in its generational sweep and coming of age comedy, while viewers of Vinyl will recognize its devotion to a music scene.
