## Synopsis

The Royals (2015-2018) is a British-set royal soap drama created by Mark Schwahn for E!. Queen Helena (Elizabeth Hurley) sits at the centre of a fictional modern-day London royal family whose opulence and regal tradition come with a price of duty, destiny and relentless public scrutiny. Her son, Prince Liam (William Moseley), and daughter, Princess Eleanor (Alexandra Park), are pulled between their personal desires and the expectations of the crown, while the palace itself hums with rivalry, secrets and manoeuvring. King Simon (Vincent Regan) and the wider court add further pressure, and the cast includes Merritt Patterson as Ophelia and Tom Austen as Jasper. Across four seasons the story unfolds as one continuing serialized soap, with each episode built from new betrayals, affairs and tabloid-ready headlines that threaten to topple the family's standing. The tone is glossy and melodramatic, mixing decadent wealth with a sharp sense of how fragile reputation can be. Fans of Dynasty, Empire and The Crown will find resonance in its blend of palace intrigue, dynastic rivalry and the cost of a life lived under the public eye. The show was canceled before its story was finished.
