## Synopsis

100 Code (2015) is a German, Swedish and American co-produced crime series created by Bobby Moresco and aired on HBO Nordic. Michael Nyqvist plays Stockholm detective Mikael Eklund, a seasoned investigator who must work alongside Dominic Monaghan as New York detective Tommy Conley, who has been granted special permission from the NYPD to observe and advise on a case. Over a single season of twelve forty-three-minute episodes, the two men chase a killer who has been leaving young, blonde, blue-eyed women dead in a meadow where Asphodel flowers grow, a pattern that has persisted for the past year. The engine of the show is the tension between two policing cultures, one American and one Scandinavian, as the outsider Conley pushes for results while the local team guards its own methods and territory. Each episode builds the investigation through interviews, crime scene evidence and procedural legwork around the city. The tone is grim and methodical, with a cold, rain-washed atmosphere and a steady undercurrent of dread. Fans of The Bridge, The Killing and Beck will find resonance in its Nordic noir mood and its partnership between mismatched investigators.
