## Synopsis

Homicide Hunter: Lt Joe Kenda (2011-2020) is a American true crime docuseries created by Joe Kenda for Investigation Discovery. Retired Lieutenant Joe Kenda hosts and narrates a nine-season run of real murder investigations drawn from his own career, which he describes as covering some four hundred homicide cases with a remarkably high solution rate. Each episode builds its story from the engine of the investigation itself: the detective's hunch, the forensic dead ends, the interviews that crack a suspect's alibi. Re-enactments dramatize key moments while Kenda, speaking directly to the camera, walks viewers through the reasoning and talks with investigation teams and the families of victims. The tone is sober and procedural, with a weighty undercurrent of grief and persistence rather than sensational spectacle. Viewers who enjoy The First 48 and Forensic Files will recognize the same appetite for methodical, case-by-case detective work. The series runs twenty-episode seasons with a consistent format, making it a binge-friendly way to spend long evenings with a veteran investigator. Set in the American cities where the original cases occurred, it stays grounded in the realities of homicide work from start to finish.
