Audiences found the premise of memory-stitching murder investigations promising, but felt the show drifted from its procedural sci-fi core toward personal drama in later seasons.

## Synopsis

Stitchers (2015-2017) is an American science fiction mystery series created by Jeff Schechter and broadcast on ABC Family and Freeform. Kirsten Clark (Emma Ishta) is a young woman recruited into a secret government agency where she is stitched into the minds of recently deceased people, walking through their final memories to find killers. Alongside her, Cameron Goodkin (Kyle Harris) and Linus Ahluwalia (Ritesh Rajan) help run the operation, while Maggie Baptiste (Salli Richardson-Whitfield) directs the unit and Detective Quincy Fisher (Damon Dayoub) brings the police side of each case. The engine of the show is the puzzle of what a dead person saw and what it reveals about a murder, with each episode built around a fresh case pulled from fragmented recollections. Across three seasons and thirty-one episodes, the format shifts from tightly focused investigations toward broader personal drama, a change that fans of the early episodes tend to notice. The tone is brisk and mildly eerie, with a clinical, fringe-science atmosphere softened by youthful earnestness. Fans of Fringe, Quantum Leap and Dead Like Me will find resonance in its blend of puzzle-solving and speculative mind-bending.
