## Synopsis

Triage X (2015) is a Japanese animated action series created for TOKYO MX, adapted from a manga and produced by XEBEC. Set in contemporary Japan around Mochizuki General Hospital, it follows a group of well-trained nurses and staff who, outside their shifts, operate as a covert team of mercenary assassins. Under the direction of the hospital chairman, the team works with local teenagers, including the nurse Arashi Mikami, voiced by Kenji Akabane, and Mikoto Kiba, voiced by Yui Kondo. Each episode follows the crew as they pick out and eliminate individuals they regard as society's cancers before their wickedness can spread, with gunfights and tense infiltrations driving the action. The series is a single ten-episode season with a brisk, violent edge and an overtly fanservice-heavy shounen register, mixing clinical composure with bloodshed. Fans of Black Lagoon and Elfen Lied will find resonance in its blend of dark action, hidden killers and provocative anime sensibilities. Its tone is brash and provocative, and its themes center on secret lives and moral rationalizations of violence.
