## Synopsis

Ash vs Evil Dead (2015-2018) is an American horror comedy series created by Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi, and Tom Spezialy for STARZ. Bruce Campbell returns as Ashley 'Ash' J. Williams, an aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent decades dodging adulthood and the terrors of the Evil Dead. Alongside him are Ray Santiago as Pablo Simon Bolivar, Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell, and Lucy Lawless as Ruby Knowby, a reluctant band of hunters who get pulled into the fight. The engine is simple and relentless: Ash wants to be left alone with his beer and his ego, but a Deadite plague threatens to wipe out mankind, forcing him to confront his demons, both metaphorical and literal. Each season unfolds as a serialized run of ten episodes, with chainsaw battles, gleefully excessive gore, and sharp slapstick punctuating a continuing story. Set in a present-day American landscape, the series wears its franchise history proudly, with a self-aware, irreverent tone that balances splatter with heart. Fans of Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer will find plenty of kinship in its campy, cult-minded spirit.
