## Synopsis

Grace and Frankie (2015-2022) is a Netflix comedy-drama series created by Howard J. Morris and Marta Kauffman. Elegant, proper Grace Hanson (Jane Fonda) and freewheeling, eccentric Frankie Bergstein (Lily Tomlin) are frenemies whose lives are upended when their husbands, Robert Hanson (Martin Sheen) and Sol Bergstein (Sam Waterston), leave them for each other. Their engine is simple and sharp: two women who have spent decades disliking each other must share a beach house, a business idea, and a daily life while starting over in their seventies. Across seven seasons, the story moves through the practical and emotional fallout of that split, with the adult children of both families, including Brianna Hanson (June Diane Raphael) and Coyote Bergstein (Ethan Embry), pulling the household in new directions. The show is built on sharp, character-driven comedy with a warm, wistful undercurrent about divorce, aging, and the family you choose. Its tone is breezy and affectionate, and it dwells on the awkward, funny moments of reinvention. Fans of Golden Girls, Hot in Cleveland and other comedies about mature women finding their footing will find plenty of resonance here.
