## Synopsis

The Heroic Legend of Arslan (2015-2016) is a Japanese animated epic fantasy series based on a manga and produced for MBS and TBS. Across two seasons and thirty-three episodes, it follows Arslan (voiced by Yusuke Kobayashi), the timid heir apparent of Pars, a strong nation sitting on the trade route between East and West. When the pagan kingdom of Lusitania invades, the untested prince watches his army fall for an enemy stratagem and be routed, and he survives only because of the loyal, indomitable warrior Daryun (Yoshimasa Hosoya). The engine of the story is Arslan's struggle to grow from a frightened young royal into a leader capable of holding his nation together, while Daryun stands beside him through campaigns, sieges and shifting alliances. Other principal voices include the strategist Narsus (Daisuke Namikawa) and the princess Elam (Natsuki Hanae). Each episode is built around battle planning, political maneuvering and the personal costs of war. The tone blends stirring heroism with melancholy and grim moments of cruelty, and the scale is that of a continuing epic rather than standalone adventures. Fans of Record of the Heroic Legends of the Three Kingdoms, Berserk and Attack on Titan will find resonance in its war, loyalty and rise-to-power storytelling.
