## Synopsis

Between (2015-2016) is a Canadian science fiction drama created by Michael McGowan and released on Netflix and Citytv. The story follows Wiley Day (Jennette McCurdy) and Adam Jones (Jesse Carere) alongside Chuck Lotts (Justin Kelly) and Melissa Day (Brooke Palsson) in a small town sealed off after a mysterious disease kills everyone older than 21. Quarantined by a distant government that has left the survivors to fend for themselves, the young residents must build a makeshift order out of a power vacuum, with rival factions, scarcity and suspicion shaping each episode. The series runs two seasons and twelve episodes, following a serialized arc in which the struggle for control drives the drama. Its tone is tense and isolated, with a bleak, claustrophobic atmosphere and a sense of abandonment tinged with teenage melodrama. Fans of The 100, Revolution and Lord of the Flies will find resonance in its portrait of young people forced to govern themselves after the adult world has vanished. Reception was mixed to negative, with critics faulting its slow tension and clichéd characters, and the show was canceled after its second season with the story unfinished.
