## Synopsis

The Undertaker (2013-2019) is a Swiss German crime drama series created by Hartmut Block for SRF 1, running seven seasons and forty episodes. Mike Müller plays Luc Conrad, a former police detective who leaves the force to run the family funeral business, only to find himself under investigation for murder. His police training and his daily encounters with corpses let him notice what his former colleagues overlook, so he pursues crimes in an unofficial capacity, often to the frustration of the official investigators. Barbara Terpoorten plays Anna-Maria Giovanoli, and Reto Stalder and Samuel Streiff round out the principal cast around him. Each episode is built around a fresh case that unfolds alongside a continuing thread of professional suspicion and personal strain, so the season arcs deepen as the lead's position grows more precarious. The atmosphere is measured and contemplative, with dark humor and melancholy threading through the morgue scenes and the small Swiss town settings. Fans of Six Feet Under, Wallander and Monk will find resonance in its blend of morbid workplace detail and outsider sleuthing. Its tone stays grounded and wry, with a steady crime investigation at the center of a family drama.
