## Synopsis

Zoo (2015-2017) is an American network science fiction thriller created by Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg for CBS, adapted from a novel by James Patterson. Renegade scientist Jackson Oz (James Wolk) is thrust into an investigation of a planetary wave of violent animal attacks, joined by Abraham Kenyatta (Nonso Anozie) and Jamie Campbell (Kristen Connolly) as the team races to unlock the mystery behind the outbreak before time runs out for animals and humans alike. Across three seasons of thirty-nine episodes, the show is built on a continuing investigation rather than standalone cases, with each installment pushing the hunt forward through new clues, dangerous field encounters and shifting alliances. Set in the present day across a globe unsettled by nature turning hostile, the series carries a tense, propulsive atmosphere, mixing clinical lab work with frantic chases and survival set pieces. Its mood is urgent and occasionally harrowing, with a paranoid undercurrent. Fans of Falling Skies, Fringe and Revolution will find resonance in its blend of global catastrophe, serialized mystery and ensemble survival. The series was canceled before its central mystery was resolved.
