## Synopsis

Guest from the Future (1985) is a Soviet television science fiction miniseries produced by Central Television USSR. Its five hour-long episodes follow Alice Seleznyova (Natalya Guseva), a girl from the future who finds herself stranded in 1984. Pursued by space pirates Krys and Joker Y, who mean her harm, Alice depends on an ordinary schoolboy, Kolya (Aleksei Fomkin), and his sixth-grade friends, including Fima (Ilya Naumov), to stay hidden and keep one step ahead. The engine of the story is simple and urgent: a young heroine must escape capture while getting by in an unfamiliar ordinary town, and each episode turns on a new chase, a clever improvisation, or a close call with the pirates. Adapted from Kir Bulychyov's novel One Hundred Years Ahead, the miniseries blends everyday schoolyard warmth with bold space adventure, creating a hopeful, playful register. Its mix of time travel, space opera imagery and childhood friendship gives it a sincere, nostalgic quality. Fans of Doctor Who, Stranger Things and Soviet youth science fiction will find resonance here, especially viewers drawn to young heroes facing otherworldly threats in familiar surroundings.
