## Synopsis

The Disappearance (2015) is a French national-television family drama miniseries created by Charlotte Brändström, Catherine Touzet and Marie Deshaires for France 2. Across eight episodes of roughly fifty-five minutes each, the story follows the Morel household after seventeen-year-old Léa (Camille Razat) fails to come home from a night out. Her parents Julien (Pierre-François Martin-Laval) and Florence (Alix Poisson) move from frantic hope to mutual suspicion, while the investigation pulls in the wider family and a police team led by Bertrand Molina (François-Xavier Demaison) and Camille Guérin (Alice Pol). The engine of the series is the slow erosion of a home: each episode is built from ordinary family rooms, phone calls, and half-truths that turn into accusations. The tone is intimate, anxious and mournful, with the atmosphere of a kitchen-table domestic drama rather than a flashy procedural. Shape is compact and self-contained, a single continuous story in one limited run. Fans of The Missing and Broadchurch will find resonance in its patient, emotionally raw handling of a child's disappearance and the fractures it exposes. The series suits viewers who want character-driven mystery and a deeply human portrait of grief under pressure.
