## Synopsis

Peter Kay's Car Share (2015-2017) is a British sitcom created by Peter Kay for BBC One. Peter Kay plays John Redmond, a mild-mannered supermarket worker who is thrown together with Kayleigh Kitson, played by Sian Gibson, through a company car share scheme. Their daily drives to and from the store form the spine of every episode, and the stories unfold almost entirely inside the car, with brief detours to the supermarket car park and Kayleigh's home. Across two seasons and a pair of specials, each trip reveals a little more about their private lives, their families and the small frustrations of working-class Manchester routines, while their relationship shifts through awkward silences, bickering and tentative affection. Danny Swarsbrick appears as Ted, a colleague who adds further comic friction. The engine of the show is simple: two people who would never have chosen one another must keep sharing the journey. The tone is warm, understated and wry, with a soundtrack of pop records that punctuates the drives. Its confined, dialogue-driven format recalls the intimate awkwardness of The Office (UK) and the tender romance of Gavin & Stacey, making it a gentle, character-focused comedy for viewers who enjoy quiet, observational humour.
