## Synopsis

Guy's Grocery Games (2013-present) is an American cooking competition series created by Guy Fieri for Food Network. Fieri hosts four talented chefs as they race through the aisles of a real grocery store, improvising dishes when essential ingredients are suddenly out of stock, cooking with a five items or less limit, or stretching a ten dollar budget. Rotating judges including Troy Johnson, Richard Blais, Melissa d'Arabian, Jet Tila and Marcela Valladolid taste each dish, and the last chef standing wins a cash prize. The engine of each episode is the pressure of the clock and the shelves: a chef must read the store, adapt a plan on the fly, and still deliver a plated meal worth eating. The series runs as a standalone episodic format with a new contest in every episode, stretching across more than forty seasons. Its tone is loud, playful and upbeat, with Fieri's boisterous energy keeping the mood breezy and fun. Fans of Chopped, Iron Chef America and Beat Bobby Flay will find the same blend of kitchen improvisation and competitive showmanship, with a comforting, easy rewatch quality.
