## Synopsis

Gary Unmarried (2008-2010) is a US network family sitcom created by Ed Yeager for CBS. Jay Mohr plays Gary Brooks, a recently divorced man who shares custody of his two children, Tom and Louise, with his ex-wife Allison, played by Paula Marshall. The engine of the series is the awkward, often comic friction of two former spouses trying to co-parent while each steps back into dating. Each episode is built from everyday custody handoffs, new romantic prospects, and the tensions that spill over between the households, with a supporting cast that includes Al Madrigal and Keegan-Michael Key. Running for two seasons and 37 episodes in a multi-camera format, the show is a light, warm and breezy comedy with a gentle, cozy feel rather than a harsh one. Its domestic focus and sitcom rhythm will appeal to viewers who enjoy the relationship humor of Modern Family and the romantic misadventures of Coupling. Set in contemporary suburban America, it offers a comforting look at family life after a split, and its cancellation leaves the blended family's story unfinished.
