## Synopsis

Beş Kardeş (2015) is a Turkish family comedy-drama series created by Onur Ünlü and broadcast on Kanal D. The series follows five brothers from the Başeğmez family, each wildly different from the others, whose personalities collide as they share their lives and loyalties. Serkan Keskin plays Sait Başeğmez, Nadir Sarıbacak plays Nazım Başeğmez, and Osman Sonant plays Orhan Başeğmez, with Tansu Biçer as Turgut and Fatih Artman as Aziz rounding out the brothers. Their circle includes Melisa Sözen as Fahriye, Nihal Yalçın as Canan, Serdar Orçin as Kudret, Ece Dizdar as Şevval, and Merve Ateş as Melike. The engine of the show is the friction between siblings who cannot be more different, as ordinary household disagreements, romantic complications, and family obligations keep pulling them into one another's business. The series was a single season of thirteen ninety-minute episodes, built around self-contained comic and dramatic episodes rather than a long arc. Its tone is warm, cozy and bickering, with a sincere sentimental undercurrent about kinship. Fans of Eight Is Enough, The Middle and Ezel will find resonance in its portrait of a big, noisy, loving family. The series was canceled after its single season, leaving its story open.
