## Synopsis

The Producers (2015) is a South Korean workplace romantic comedy created by Park Ji-eun, Seo Min-soo and Hong Yoon-sung for KBS2. Over a single season of twelve hour-long episodes, the story follows a rookie producer who joins the Korean Broadcasting System to be near his secret crush, and gets pulled into the frantic world of network television, where ratings decide everything. Cha Tae-hyun plays Ra Joon-mo, a veteran producer whose hard-earned instincts clash with the new arrival's eagerness, while Gong Hyo-jin plays Tak Ye-ji, the woman at the center of the rookie's affection. Kim Soo-hyun, IU and Im Ye-jin round out the principal cast as colleagues and rivals whose romances and career battles tangle together. Each episode builds around a program crisis, a rating push or a celebrity booking, and the personal stakes grow alongside the professional ones. The mood is buoyant and affectionate, with sharp office banter, unrequited longing and a cohabitation setup that keeps the characters close. Set in present-day Seoul, the series is a light, feel good ensemble piece, and fans of Something in the Rain and 30 Rock will find a similar blend of romance and newsroom style chaos.
