## Synopsis

Morran and Tobias (2014-present) is a Swedish comedy series broadcast on SVT1, created by and starring Johan Rheborg and Robert Gustafsson, who play the title mother and son. Morran and Tobias are two people living at the fringes of society in a small croft in the Swedish countryside near Trosa, a home they have occupied for thirty-four years. The engine of the show is their attempt to hold onto that life when the municipality expropriates the property and the house is left standing empty, and each short episode turns on the practical and emotional chores of moving out, sorting household goods, and adjusting to a changed life. The series runs across three seasons and thirty-three episodes of roughly eight minutes each, a compact, episodic format built on character comedy rather than plot mechanics. Its tone is warm and deadpan, with a tender undercurrent of love and grief for a way of life that its unusual protagonists chose to keep. Fans of Schitt's Creek and Flight of the Conchords will find resonance in its affectionate, understated humor about eccentric characters who refuse to fit the mold.
