## Synopsis

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (2015-present) is a Japanese anime series created for AT-X and TOKYO MX, produced by J.C.STAFF, and spanning five seasons and 74 episodes. Bell Cranel (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka) is a novice adventurer in the city of Orario who hopes that fighting monsters in the sprawling underground Dungeon will bring him a fateful meeting with a girl. His patron is the goddess Hestia (Inori Minase), who is as eager as he is to prove herself, and their unlikely partnership drives the show. Supporting principals include the elf Ais Wallenstein (Saori Onishi), the fellow adventurer Welf Crozzo (Yoshimasa Hosoya), and the scrappy Liliruca Arde (Maaya Uchida). Each episode is built from concrete expeditions into the labyrinth, guild jobs, monster battles, and the social politics of a fantasy city where fame and fortune are everyday currency. The overall shape is one continuing story told through a mix of standalone adventures and season-long arcs. The tone is earnest and comedic, with romantic longing and warm friendship balanced against action and a steady undercurrent of danger. Fans of Sword Art Online, KonoSuba, and Dungeon Meshi will find a familiar pleasure in its fantasy adventure, its bumbling hero, and its heart.
