## Synopsis

Blade (2011) is a Japanese anime action horror series created for ANIMAX and produced by Madhouse, adapting the Marvel vampire hunter. Blade, a legendary half-vampire, half-human hunter voiced by Akio Otsuka, is driven by a personal vendetta against Deacon Frost, voiced by Tsutomu Isobe, a powerful and influential vampire who killed his mother. Frost leads Existence, a secretive vampire organization operating across Southeast Asia, and Blade's engine is the relentless hunt through shadowy networks and violent confrontations. Maaya Sakamoto voices Makoto, a principal character who sits beside Blade in the story. The series unfolds as a single twelve-episode arc of about twenty-five minutes each, with a continuing thread that rewards watching in order. Its register is stylized and blood-soaked, with gothic menace, brooding atmosphere, and a propulsive rhythm of fights and escalating pursuit. Fans of Hellsing Ultimate, Blood: The Last Vampire and Buffy the Vampire Slayer will find resonance in its mix of vampire mythology, supernatural dread, and anime action.
