## Synopsis

Proof (2015) is an American science fiction drama series created by Rob Bragin for TNT. Brilliant surgeon Dr. Carolyn Tyler (Jennifer Beals) leads a team of researchers in a rigorous search for evidence that consciousness survives death, a quest that pits her clinical skepticism against the faith and emotional pressures around her. Alongside her, Ivan Turing (Matthew Modine) and Dr. Charles Russell (Joe Morton) bring contrasting perspectives on science and belief, while Janel Ramsey (Caroline Kaplan) and Sophie Barliss (Annie Thurman) add personal stakes. The engine of the show is the methodical investigation itself, with each episode testing a new claim against hard data and the fallout it leaves in the lives of the people involved. Told across a single season of ten roughly forty-three minute episodes, the series unfolds as one continuing story with a cerebral, measured tone. Its atmosphere is quiet, contemplative and often unsettling, rooted in the contemporary American present. Fans of The Leftovers, Believers and The Good Doctor will find resonance in its blend of grief, scientific ambition and moral uncertainty.
