## Synopsis

Another Period (2015-2018) is a US period parody sitcom created by Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome for Comedy Central. Leggero and Lindhome also star as sisters Lillian and Beatrice, who sit at the center of the Bellacourts, Newport, Rhode Island's first family, a clan with enormous money and no talent or purpose. Paget Brewster plays Dodo Bellacourt, Jason Ritter plays Frederick Bellacourt, and David Koechner plays The Commodore, while Christina Hendricks appears as Celine. The engine of the show is the sisters' relentless scheming to win fame, attend the right parties and climb social ladders in 1902, a period in which such ambitions are far harder to achieve than they would be today. Each episode is a self-contained comic outing built on the family's vanity, bad judgment and social blunders, with the three-season run staying light, breezy and sharply satirical. Its tone combines deadpan wit with anachronistic modern sensibility, placing it in the lineage of Absolutely Fabulous and Upstairs Downstairs-style period mockery, with fans of Portlandia also likely to find resonance in its absurdist sketch energy.
