## Synopsis

High Society (2015) is a South Korean romance drama created by Ha Myung-hee for SBS. Uee plays Jang Yoon-ha, a wealthy heiress who, worn down by the pressures of her powerful family, tries to escape her world by living as an ordinary person. Her search for normalcy draws her into a relationship with Choi Joon-ki, played by Sung Joon, whose modest life contrasts sharply with her own. Im Ji-yeon, Park Hyung-sik, and Yoon Ji-hye fill out a web of principal characters, with family rivalries and class expectations pressing on every step of the romance. The engine of the series is the tension between the comfort of the life she was born into and the honest affection she finds in an unfamiliar one, and each episode builds on the friction of hidden identities, family interference, and the costs of pretending. Told across a single season of sixteen one-hour episodes, the story moves at a steady pace, with a seaside setting providing a breathing space away from the chaebol world. The tone blends wistful romance with the melodrama typical of Korean television, with moments of tenderness and frustration. Fans of Crash Landing on You, Boys Over Flowers, and Full House will find familiar pleasures in its class-crossing love story and its emotionally charged family conflicts.
