## Synopsis

GetBackers (2002-2003) is a Japanese animated action adventure series created for TBS and produced by Studio Deen, running two seasons and 49 episodes. Its protagonists, the superpowered freelancers Ban Mido and Ginji Amano, voiced by Nobutoshi Canna and Showtaro Morikubo, run a business that recovers anything lost or stolen, taking on jobs for clients who can pay. Each episode is built around a new retrieval assignment that pulls the duo into fights with rival operators and dangerous opponents, while the partnership between the two leads anchors the show. Supporting voice performers Natsuko Kuwatani as Himiko Kudo and Takehito Koyasu as Jubei Kakei round out the ensemble. The tone is energetic and breezy, with bursts of comic banter alongside fast combat sequences, and the series carries the bromance-driven warmth of a classic shonen anime. Fans of Yu Yu Hakusho, Cowboy Bebop and Trigun will find a similar mix of action, camaraderie and offbeat supernatural jobs. The show was animated in a traditional hand-drawn style typical of its era, and the episodic cases give it an easy, accessible rhythm for viewers who want fast, playful adventure.
