## Synopsis

Containment (2016) is a United States network science fiction drama created by Julie Plec for The CW. Set in present-day Atlanta, the series follows an epidemic that seals the large city off from the outside world, leaving its residents trapped inside and fighting for their lives. Alex Carnahan (David Gyasi) is a central figure in the sealed city, and the ensemble includes Katie Frank (Kristen Lee Gutoskie), Dr. Victor Cannerts (George Young) and Dr. Sabine Lommers (Claudia Black), whose choices shape the fight to survive. Its engine is the scramble for food, medicine and safety under a military and institutional cordon, while separated loved ones search for one another across the barricades. Each episode turns on a new crisis inside the quarantine, building a single serialized story across its thirteen episodes in one season. The tone is tense and urgent, with moments of desperate humanity and a darker current of paranoia as order frays and a rough new society emerges. Its atmosphere of confinement and dread recalls the community survival of The Walking Dead, the sealed-off dread of Under the Dome, and the outbreak thriller pulse of Pandemic. The show was canceled after its single season, leaving its central story unfinished.
