## Synopsis

Tut (2015) is a Canadian-American historical drama miniseries created by Peter Paige, Michael Vickerman and Bradley Bredeweg for Spike. Across three ninety-minute episodes it follows the boy king Tutankhamun (Avan Jogia), whose rise to the throne of Egypt is shadowed by the ambitions of those closest to him. Ben Kingsley plays the scheming adviser Ay, while Nonso Anozie portrays the military commander General Horemheb, and Sibylla Deen plays Ankhe, a figure caught between loyalty and desire. Their alliances shift as they vie for influence over a young ruler who must prove himself in a court filled with romance, jealousy and quiet murder. Each episode mixes palace maneuvering with battlefield spectacle, building toward a sweeping sense of a kingdom at a fragile turning point. The atmosphere is lavish and dramatic, with a heightened tone that blends heartbreak and political backstabbing. Its lush, sun-baked sets and sweeping costume design give it the feel of an event production. Fans of Rome, The Tudors and Spartacus will find a similar appetite for ancient power politics. The series is set in 14th century BC Egypt, a royal world that feels surprisingly close to our own.
