## Synopsis

Red Oaks (2014-2017) is an American coming-of-age comedy-drama series created by Joe Gangemi and Gregory Jacobs for Prime Video. Set in 1985 suburban New Jersey, it follows David Myers, a college student working as an assistant tennis pro at the Red Oaks Country Club while his father recovers from a heart attack and he wrestles with what major to declare in the fall. Around him swirls a colorful cast of misfit co-workers and wealthy members, including an alluring art student named Skye and her corporate raider father Getty. The engine of the show is the push and pull between the club's privileged world and the staff who serve it, with each episode built from lessons on the courts, after-hours parties, and tangled romances. Across three seasons, the series balances raucous hijinks with heartfelt family moments. Its tone is warm, breezy and nostalgic, glowing with go-go era style and soundtrack. Fans of The Wonder Years, Freaks and Geeks and Eastbound and Down will find resonance in its blend of humor and tenderness about a summer when the future begins.
