## Synopsis

Lucifer (2016-2021) is an American crime fantasy series developed for FOX and later continued on Netflix. Tom Ellis plays Lucifer Morningstar, the Lord of Hell who abandons his throne for Los Angeles, where he partners with LAPD detective Chloe Decker, played by Lauren German, to solve murders. Kevin Alejandro as Detective Dan Espinoza and D. B. Woodside as Amenadiel add principal support. Each episode pairs a standalone crime with a continuing supernatural arc across six seasons, so the caseload and the devil's own longing for something more keep pulling against each other. The tone is glossy and playful, with sharp banter and romantic tension, though it grows more sincere in its emotional beats. Its heart is redemption, free will, family conflict and temptation, and its blend of procedural crime and urban fantasy suits viewers who enjoy charm, romance and a light touch with darker material.
