## Synopsis

Shadowhunters (2016-2019) is an American young adult urban fantasy series created by Ed Decter for Freeform. When her mother vanishes, a young artist named Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara) is drawn into a hidden world of demon hunting Shadowhunters, where she is pulled between the brooding Jace Wayland (Dominic Sherwood) and her loyal friend Simon Lewis (Alberto Rosende). Alongside Alec Lightwood (Matthew Daddario) and Magnus Bane (Harry Shum Jr.), she fights vampires, warlocks, werewolves and other supernatural creatures while racing to uncover a plan that threatens the world. The series runs three seasons and fifty-five episodes, mixing case-driven fights with a longer mythology about rune magic and family secrets. Its tone blends action, romance and melodrama, with a love triangle at its emotional core and a steady stream of stylized battle sequences. Fans of The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones will find resonance in its mix of teen romance and monster hunting.
