## Synopsis

Naked and Afraid XL (2015-present) is an American reality survival series created for Discovery. Each season drops a group of self-described survival experts, billed as the best in the world, into an unforgiving wilderness with no food, water or clothing and a target of forty days and forty nights. The engine is simple and brutal: each participant must build shelter, find and purify water, hunt or forage for calories, and keep their body and mind functioning while the environment wears them down. Episodes are built from the daily grind of fire making, trap setting, and tense confrontations with heat, hunger and exhaustion, with the question of who will last hanging over every stretch. The series runs for ten seasons and dozens of episodes, following a continuing format that rotates cast members through a new location each time. Its tone is raw, matter of fact and unsentimental, treating nudity and deprivation as practical facts of survival rather than spectacle. Fans of Survivor, Man vs. Wild and Alone will find the same appetite for endurance, the same fascination with nature pushed to its limit, and the same quiet suspense about who will make it to the end.
