## Synopsis

F is for Family (2015-2021) is a American adult animated sitcom created by Michael Price and Bill Burr for Netflix. Set in 1970s suburban America, the series follows Frank Murphy (Bill Burr), a blustering, short-tempered father whose ambitions keep colliding with his household, alongside his wife Sue Murphy (Laura Dern), a steadying presence trying to hold the family together. Their son Kevin Murphy (Justin Long) and the rest of the children roam a neighborhood cul-de-sac where beer flows, television rules the living room, and every small conflict escalates into a family crisis. Frank's neighbor Vic (Sam Rockwell) adds further friction. Each season is built from domestic clashes, school and work frustrations, and neighborhood rivalries, while the story arcs carry across episodes more than in typical animated comedy. The tone is crude and loud, wrapped in nostalgic period detail, with an undercurrent of resentment and affection. Fans of King of the Hill and All in the Family will find resonance here, along with the bleak humor of BoJack Horseman. Five seasons run, and the series rewards attention to its family dynamics as much as its jokes.
